These included SIRAC 2026\u2014the 16th International Symposium on Animal Reproduction<\/strong>, one of the country\u2019s leading events focused on animal reproduction, reproductive biotechnologies, and veterinary medicine.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n One of the week\u2019s main events was the 4th International Congress on Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV)<\/strong>. Organized by Bioinnovo<\/strong>, it was held on Wednesday, August 26, at the C\u00f3rdoba Convention Center<\/strong> as part of SIRAC 2026.<\/p>\n Consequently, the congress brought together leading national and international specialists. They addressed one of the major health challenges in cattle production: immunosuppression associated with the BVDV and its impact on production.<\/strong><\/p>\n In this framework, the event featured three leading experts in cattle research and health. From South Dakota State University, Dr. Christopher Chase<\/strong> presented \u201cImmune dysfunction induced by BVDV and BoHV-1: Impacts on Cattle Production\u201d<\/em>. His presentation addressed the immune alterations caused by BVDV and bovine herpesvirus type 1, along with their consequences for production.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n For his part, Dr. Pietro Sampaio Baruselli<\/strong>, from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong>, spoke on the \u201cImportance of Reproductive and Health Management in Beef Cattle Productivity\u201d<\/em>. Therefore, he focused on the relationship between management strategies, health, and production outcomes in cattle farming systems.<\/p>\n Rounding out the panel was Dr. Andr\u00e9s Wigdorovitz<\/strong>, Director of INCUINTA (INTA), Scientific Director of Bioinnovo, and senior researcher at CONICET. He presented \u201cThe Productive Impact of Controlling Immunosuppression Caused by BVDV in Cattle\u201d, delving into the productive implications of addressing this health issue.<\/p>\n Thus, the participation of specialists with diverse perspectives created a forum for updating knowledge and exchanging ideas on the impact of BVDV. Moreover, they highlighted the role of immunity and the importance of integrating health and reproductive strategies to improve the efficiency of cattle production systems.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n As part of the week\u2019s activities, on Tuesday, August 25, Vetanco and Bioinnovo held an International Pre-Congress on BVDV. This prior activity was organized together with the C\u00f3rdoba Institute of Animal Reproduction (IRAC).<\/p>\n The event took place at the IRAC facilities and included an institutional presentation, a tour of the facilities, and a Reproductive Workshop. This workshop was led by Dr. Christopher Chase and Dr. Juli\u00e1n Bartolom\u00e9.<\/p>\n In this context, the meeting provided an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences regarding various challenges related to cattle health and reproduction. Furthermore, it fostered dialogue among the participating professionals.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, August 26, the workshop for laboratory technicians titled \u201cThe Laboratory as a Decision-Making Tool\u201d was also held. Organized by Vetanco, it was aimed at professionals involved in diagnostics.<\/p>\n In this line, the event featured Dr. Christopher Chase of South Dakota State University in the United States and Dr. Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 dus Santos, Research Area Coordinator at the Institute of Virology and Technological Innovations (IVIT).<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n During the workshop, diagnostic tools for strengthening health control were discussed. As a result, the strategic role of the laboratory as a source of information for more accurate and efficient decision-making was highlighted.<\/p>\n In addition to the activities organized specifically around BVDV and diagnostics, Vetanco maintained an institutional booth throughout SIRAC 2026.<\/p>\n Throughout the various sessions of the symposium, the booth provided an opportunity to meet with professionals, clients, and industry leaders. Consequently, this strengthened exchanges and ties with the veterinary and scientific communities.<\/p>\n Participation in SIRAC thus complemented the initiatives driven by Vetanco and Bioinnovo. The presence provided a leading meeting forum for professionals involved in animal reproduction, reproductive biotechnologies, and veterinary medicine.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The various activities held throughout the week provided an opportunity to address, from different perspectives, some of the main health, diagnostic, and reproductive challenges facing cattle production.<\/p>\n For Vetanco and Bioinnovo, these events represent an opportunity to promote professional development and continuing education.
