innovation
Vetanco firmly believes that the most significant breakthroughs in animal health stem from collaboration. That is why we have built strategic alliances with research centers, universities, and biotechnology companies that share a common commitment: turning science into real-world solutions for the field.
Our R&D partner network connects laboratories in Argentina, Brazil, Hungary and the United States, expanding our research capabilities, accelerating product development, and strengthening technical support across the markets we serve.
Every alliance is built on a shared principle: collaborative innovation driving responsible animal production.
Founded by Dr. Árpád Bata, a pioneer in the use of enzymatic technologies for mycotoxin inactivation, Dr. Bata Ltd. is a global leader in the development of biotechnological products for animal health.
This scientific partnership, initiated around 2010, has yielded products like Herbanoplex® and Dysantic®—true pioneers in the natural additives market and in managing enteric challenges in swine.
In 2023, this collaboration materialized in Brazil with the inauguration of the first Dr. Bata manufacturing plant in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, located right next to Vetanco Brazil’s headquarters.
An alliance that began in the laboratory and has solidified into a strong industrial presence in the world’s largest animal protein market.
BV Science is a strategic joint venture created in 2018 by Vetanco and Dr. Bata Ltd., the result of over a decade of scientific collaboration between the two companies.
BV Science unites the R&D, marketing, and technical support capabilities of both organizations into a global platform, with connected laboratories in Argentina, Brazil, and Hungary.
The core focus is developing biotechnological solutions for antibiotic-free animal production, including phytogenic additives, prebiotics, and gut health tools that reach the field with proven efficacy.
BV Science products are distributed by Vetanco in the Americas and by Dr. Bata throughout the rest of the world.

BV LAB is an experimental facility born from the partnership between BV Science and UDESC (Santa Catarina State University), located in Chapecó, one of Brazil’s main animal production hubs.
Dedicated to applied research in poultry and swine farming, the laboratory bridges the gap between academic rigor and on-farm reality, testing and validating BV Science’s biotechnological solutions under real-world production conditions.
This serves as an additional strategic pillar in Vetanco’s decentralized R&D network, reinforcing the corporation’s strong presence in public-private knowledge partnerships in Brazil.

INTA (National Agricultural Technology Institute) is one of Latin America’s most respected agricultural research institutions, dedicated to the sustainable development of the sector through research, extension, and knowledge transfer. The relationship between Vetanco and INTA is one of the corporation’s longest-standing and most structured alliances.
Beyond giving rise to Bioinnovo, the first technology-based public-private company in its segment in Argentina, the partnership includes an experimental farm located within INTA Castelar, approved by CONABIA ((Argentina’s national agricultural biotechnology commission), alongside active research and technology transfer agreements.
This collaboration has successfully transformed public infrastructure and scientific knowledge into tangible products for the field.
Bioinnovo is the first technology-based public-private company formed by INTA and Vetanco, the result of more than 15 years of joint collaboration between the two organizations.
Dedicated to the research, development, and production of IgY antibodies, recombinant vaccines, and specialized animal health services, Bioinnovo embodies the cutting edge of biotechnology applied to the field.
Standout developments include Bioinnovo IgY DNT, a biological product for the prevention of neonatal diarrhea in calves caused by Rotavirus, Coronavirus, Salmonella, and E. coli; and Vedevax BLOCK, the first subunit vaccine designed to control the Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) virus.
These are products that transitioned from INTA’s laboratories directly to producers, with Vetanco serving as the vital bridge between public science and private application.
Vetanco’s R&D model is structurally different from the conventional approach. Rather than centralizing all scientific capacity in a single hub, the corporation has spent decades building a decentralized research network, connecting its own laboratories in Argentina and the United States with top-tier scientific partners in Hungary, Brazil, and public institutions like INTA.
This architecture delivers a tangible impact: it allows different areas of expertise to combine forces, enables knowledge generated in one country to be applied in another, and ensures that Vetanco remains simultaneously at the forefront of global biotechnology while staying closely attuned to the local challenges of every market it serves.
In Brazil, the partnership with UDESC in Chapecó reinforces this model through an experimental facility dedicated to applied research in poultry and swine.
In the U.S., the laboratory at the University of Minnesota’s University Enterprise Labs connects the corporation directly to the North American biotechnological innovation ecosystem.
In Argentina, the experimental farm within INTA Castelar and the General Rodríguez manufacturing plant complete an R&D infrastructure that very few veterinary laboratories in the world can replicate.
It is this network that makes it possible to deliver applied science not as a promise, but as a proven result.
