A history
built on
science, people
and purpose
Since 1987, Vetanco has grown without
losing sight of what matters most:
our closeness to the field and our
commitment to producers.
Vetanco operates in over 40 countries with its own branches and distributors, specialized technical teams, and a portfolio tailored to the specific demands of each market. A multinational structure built over decades, without ever losing the closeness to the field that has defined us since 1987.
Founded in 1987 in Buenos Aires, Vetanco began with a focus on poultry and swine production and grew through scientific milestones that helped define its reputation: the synthesis of the first veterinary quinolone in Latin America in 1990, the hydrogenation of Ivermectin in 1993, and the first exports to Southeast Asia in 1995.
Over time, this expertise also expanded into cattle production, with solutions developed to support the different realities of the sector. Vetanco builds on constant dialogue with the field and on an understanding of factors such as production systems, geography and management practices to apply science that respects the pace of each herd and contributes to its health and productivity.
As Argentina’s leading exporter of veterinary pharmaceuticals, Vetanco received the Fundación Exportar Award in 2007 and 2010 and obtained Good Manufacturing Practices certification from SENASA, Argentina’s national authority for animal health and agri-food quality, in 2008.
The headquarters in Vicente López and the industrial plant in General Rodríguez, with 33,000 m² of internationally certified production capacity, remain at the center of the company’s global operations.
Founded in 2001, Vetanco Brazil continues its expansion in the veterinary market, offering highly differentiated products and top-tier technical support. With a team operating across all Brazilian states, Vetanco Brazil provides on-farm support and technical assistance to clients nationwide.
Since entering Brazil, Vetanco has solidified its position as a robust player in the veterinary sector, becoming a key supplier for major agribusinesses and standing out in industry events. In 2007, the branch achieved ISO 9001 certification, reinforcing its commitment to Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement in customer service.
Chapecó is also home to the dedicated Dr. Bata manufacturing plant, inaugurated in 2023.
Mexico represents Vetanco’s expansion into North America, one of the fastest-growing animal protein markets in Latin America, with operations based in Querétaro.
Supported by the same scientific milestones and certifications that have shaped the company’s global journey, including Good Manufacturing Practices recognized by SENASA and the Fundación Exportar Awards received in 2007 and 2010, the Mexican subsidiary offers solutions for poultry, swine and cattle production, backed by local technical support and regulatory compliance for the North American market.
In cattle production, Vetanco develops solutions based on a constant understanding of field needs, recognizing that each production system has its own pace, shaped by factors such as geography, management practices and the specific characteristics of each operation. Science is adapted to these realities to support herd health and productivity without imposing a single model.
Vetanco Colombia operates with its own structure in one of South America’s fastest-growing markets.
Building on the biotechnological portfolio developed since 1987 and the international certifications that positioned Vetanco as Argentina’s top exporter of veterinary pharmaceuticals, the Colombian operation delivers specialized animal health solutions, backed by a local technical team and customized customer service.
In Uruguay, Vetanco operates through Irdenco S.A., a strategic partner based in Montevideo.
Our presence in the country brings the Uruguayan market the same scientific portfolio and quality standards that have made Vetanco a benchmark in Latin American animal health, supported by a partnership consolidated over many years.
Our presence in the U.S. holds a strategic dimension that goes beyond commercial sales: the University of Minnesota is home to Vetanco’s advanced R&D laboratory, deeply integrated into the North American biotechnological innovation ecosystem.
The country also hosts BV Science, Inc., the joint venture created in 2018 with Dr. Bata Ltd., based in St. Louis, Missouri. The commercial operation, Vetanco USA, Inc., registers products and fosters relationships within one of the world’s most demanding regulatory landscapes.
For Vetanco, being in the U.S. means being at the forefront of the future of animal biotechnology.
Vetanco serves Central America and the Caribbean through Avifarm S.A., headquartered in Panama City, and Vetanco Guatemala S.A.
These regional operations bring the local market the animal health portfolio developed since 1987, delivering the technical support and quality standards that have positioned Vetanco as a leader in Latin American animal production.
